The SportZone is a great place to train. Our trainers are hard working, and the best that you will find around the Indianapolis area. We are dedicated to setting and achieving our client’s goals. We also offer speed, agility, and quickness training to our athletes. We are happy to cater to your personal fitness needs and interests, and your fitness is our top priority. On behalf of our fitness instructors and personal trainers, I thank you for your support!
Personal Trainer Spotlight: Kilee Taflinger
Degrees
MS Exercise Science, Ball State University (Muncie, IN)
Certification
Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA)
Experience
I started my college career at Indiana State University pursuing an Exercise Science degree while playing on the Women’s Basketball Team. After a short time I returned home to Ball State University to finish my degree in Exercise Science. At Ball State I had the opportunity to participate on the scout team for the women’s basketball team.

During my training I spent several hundred hours in the intercollegiate weight room working out Volleyball, Women’s Basketball, Softball and Field Hockey players. As a senior I completed my internship at the University of Maryland in their strength and conditioning department. I had the opportunity to work with Football, Softball, Volleyball, Field Hockey, and the National Champion Women’s Basetball team.
Philosophy
I now currently train a wide range of individuals with a diverse range of health and fitness goals. I want a healthy lifestyle to be fun for everyone, so that is what I try and focus on with each client I train.
Interesting Facts
I have competed in the Miss Ball State Bodybuilding Competition the past two years. My two passions are athletics and fitness.
Personal Trainer Spotlight: Chris Garrity
Degrees
MS Exercise Science, Miami University (Ohio)
BA Psychology, Wilmington College
Certification
Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, NSCA
Experience
My experience ha spanned 14 years and has included mostly healthy adults wanting to lose weight, increase strength and endurance, improve their health or just feel better. I have also trained many different types of athletes and worked as a high school strength and conditioning coach, interned with the Miami University strength and conditioning program and volunteered with the women’s strength and conditioning program at the University of Tennessee.

Other populations I have trained include children and teens that are physically and emotionally mature enough to exercise in a fitness center, seniors who want to improve balance and strength to function better on a daily basis, and people who have a disease or disorder and need specific modifications to their workout based on their doctor’s recommendation. My clients with such conditions have included those with orthopedic problems, heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, fibromyalgia, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, breast cancer, and auto-immune disorders.

Philosophy
I am the kind of person who sees the glass half full. I believe that anyone can start a fitness program regardless of age, size or shape. It’s never too late to start exercising and improve quality of life. Ideally, as a society, we would be able to teach every child early on the importance of good health, regular physical activity and sound nutrition so that as they reach adulthood these things are prioritized and practiced as daily lifestyle habits. However, this is not the case as we witness rising cases of adult and childhood obesity, diabetes and other controllable health problems. Therefore, I choose to be a health and fitness professional to help people of all ages and backgrounds to reach their goals (health or performance related) and to be healthier in a fun, individualized, educational way. Don’t get me wrong, I still put the work in “workout.”

Interesting Fact
Coming from Cincinnati, I am a Bengals fan, regardless of their reputation, but I have always liked the Colts since Peyton Manning joined the team. I used to watch him on Saturdays when he was at Tennessee.
